 "LOVE IT!!!" 2009-11-25
By J. Hernandez (CA)
Bought this tv 11 days ago at Target for $499. It just went on sale for $399. I brought my receipt in and Target gave me back the difference. Compared to the other sets at the store, this one definitely had the best picture quality. The whites were white. On the other sets the whites looked dull. I had a Proscan and returned it. Then I tried a Sylvania and returned it. I tried a Vizio...returned it. Brought the Samsung home and I love it. I will not be returning it. The picture and sound quality are amazing even up close.

"Only one night in, but i've put it through the paces." 2009-11-18
By Logan Ogden (Minneapolis)
I believe this is just about the best LCD you're going to find for the sub $500 price tag anywhere right now. I actually picked this up last night at a local electronics store that was selling it for $399! I was waiting for the "Black Friday" deals to come around, but I thought this was smarter as facing those massive crowds of consumer hungry individuals wasn't on my list of things I would like to do.

Anyway, the Samsung has done nothing but impress me for the price. The first thing I did was hook up my PS3 and 360 in order to check that all was up to par. There is very minimal blur (to be expected from a 60hz LCD) but nothing too distracting as long as the viewer is at least 3-4 feet from the screen. I sit 7 so I barely noticed it. I am used to a 42" plasma that has no blur at all, so it took a little adjusting, but nothing major. Next I streaming Netflix. The SD movies were acceptable and the HD looked amazing. I would say it passed the test for that as well. I moved on to streaming HD content from my laptop through the xbox. This, again, looked more than acceptable. All I had left was BluRay... and let's just say that this was the cream of the crop when it came to the tests short of playing a game on the tv. The picture was crisp, bright, colorful and accurate. The blacks were great and the whites were blinding if chosen so.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. This is the first Samsung I've ever purchased as I've stuck to plasmas in the past (mostly Panasonic) but I knew they didn't really compete as strongly in the LCD market. If I had to choose again I wouldn't change my choice... especially for the price tag that was associated.

"Very good set for the $!" 2009-11-16
By J. Wray (Gainesville, GA USA)
I bought this Sammy to replace a wall mounted box TV in a bedroom. What a drastic improvement it made! Due to the compact size of the flat screen, it replaced a 21" box. The price was comparable to a Vizio at my local Walmart. I'll take a Sammy over a Vizio anytime. It came as specified in just a few days, mounted to the Cheetah wall mount I purchased here on Amazon, and I was enjoying the set in no time. I only rated it 4 stars due to the pic being 720, which for a 32" is good for a bedroom or den IMO. I think it would come up a little short for a home theater unit (what are you expecting for around $450!). All in all, It's a good set with enough features to satisfy the needs of most at a good price. Thanks Amazon for offering the Sammy at a Vizio price!

 "Was unsure............." 2009-11-13
By Camstache (Cambridge, MA)
After my good old "regular tube" tv just stopped working last week, I started looking into a new replacement television--boy was I confused! A lot has happened in electronics in the past 10 years! As someone who is not a high tech expert, I just wanted a tv that was inexpensive, , easy to use, and not loaded with stuff I would never use.

I started talking with salespeople at BestBuy, Walmart, and Sears, and they all told me to go with a Samsung or a Sony. After reading reviews on this site and others, I decided to narrow my search to the Samsung models as the Sony 32" models seems to have a lot of problems with "boards" within the first year----so, a Samsung it would be.

I found the 32" model on sale in several places, all around the $450 mark.(my limit was $500) Went to BestBuy where they price match, and got an open box model for even less---$399! Score!

The tv was easy to set up (even for me! I really am NOT an electronics kind of guy) and within minutes I had an amazing picture off this set! I do NOT have cable, and am using only a digital antenna to get the signal, and still the picture is incredible! The pre-set settings for color, sound and such are just fine for me, and even though the sound comes out the bottom of the set, it sounds just fine to me. (other people reviewed that the sound was tinny and weak) I have only had the tv for 3 days now, so I am still getting used to this large , clear, defined picture, but so far so good! (you really DO see things much clearer, especially peoples faces) I would definitely recommend this television to people who arent totally into the whole "I need the top of the line television with all the bells and whistles".Depending on where you are, you should be able to pick this up for around $450-$475.

Hope I am just as happy 2 years from now!

By T. Pruett (San Diego, CA)
Overall, I'm very happy with the TV. I did a lot of research on 32" LCD TV's and the Samsung had the best picture by far. My only complaint is the quality of sound out of the built-in speakers. In retrospect I should have done more comparison research on the sound as it wasn't as good as the reviews had indicated. Other than that, I'm a happy camper.

 "4 Stars, but Really 3 1/2 Stars" 2009-11-26
By TM Masterson
Outside of the three issues discussed below, this set (24") is fine for small viewing areas. Color and HD detail are both excellent.

One issue is the viewing angle, which is very limited, both side-to-side and when the set is elevated, for example, on a wall mount. If you are outside of the viewing angle, the picture turns into dark blotches.

Another issue is dark and low-light scenes, such as night time. The Samsung picture becomes too dark making it hard to see what's going on. However, I have seen some improvement by adjusting the brightness and contrast of the picture.

Lastly, the sound is not up to Samsung's usual quality. It seems to project out to the sides and back of the set, rather than the front.

If you are looking for a small HDTV with extraordinary quality, this is not the set for you. For the less demanding viewer, this set is fine, especially considering the price ($268) and free shipping from Amazon.

I bought this TV with the expectation of wall mounting it with a VESA swing arm. Turns out that this TV doesn't have VESA compatable mounting holes. You can only buy a Samsung custom fixed wall mount for an additional $35. You can't get a refund on this TV. The TV can only be returned to Tigers Direct if it is defective.

With in 3 months of use, green vertical line appeared on the monitor. I called samsung and they asked me to send it to repair (it was third party repair center). Even after one month I have not received my monitor back. I called samsung several times but they do not have any idea what is going on at service center.

I thought Samsung makes great products. If the products are not great, you should at least have great service.

I better stick with Sony which makes good products even though it has crappy service.

I would recommend both this product and this seller for any future considerations or purchases. The monitor was easy to hook up, the display is fantastic, it looks great in my office and has been one of the better investments I've made in terms of a monitor. The fact it also be used with the Digital TV or hooked to DVD, Blu-ray is like a bonus item for free. I had read several reviews before buying this monitor, all had very good things to say about it and I would agree in every area. As I also mentioned the seller of this item was great as well. The shipping was extremely fast and everything arrived in perfect condition.

"A really sturdy wall mount with a lot of positioning possibilities" 2009-11-27
By V. Edwards (metro atlanta)
Let me make it clear, you have to mount this to the studs. It is heavy duty! I have a Bravia 52' hanging from it. You can position the tv brackets up or down on the back of the TV to raise or lower it which is a nice feature. the tv can also be slid from side to side by loosening the tension bolts on the bracket. This gives you extra room to play with your baseline setup. after that the extension arms allow you to pull the tv forward and twist side to side depending on which part of the room you want to view from. It also has a secure tilt adjustment. I really like this mount and feel for the money it is the best mount I could have possibly bought as I have looked at many different kinds. This one was inexpensive but definitely not cheaply built! I love the versatility and ease of use. Installation is a bit tricky and it HAS to be mounted to the studs. The directions that come with the stand tend to be tad vague. All-in-all, if you want a great mount for a great price that gives you some freedom of placemnet and still manages to hold the TV flat to the wall when not in use this is a fantastic little (understatement) mount.

As always, Amazon shipped it fast.

The mount works fine for what I need it for. To extend the TV out of the opening, and get to the connections. But if you want to use it to move the TV position around, it is a little clunky. Also the gauge on the steel looks a little light to me, compared to some other mounts I've seen.

Hello I bought this product about 1 week ago. I have a 47" TV and i was a little worried about the weight of my tv. Let me say this, After i mounted the mount to the wall hiting two studs. I hung from it. I weigh 215lbs.. And the mount didnt budge. This is a great product. My dad has a omin mount and says that this mount looks better, and you can run the wires alot easier wth this rather than the omni mount. This is a great pruduct. And i would like to hank the other reviews, because thats what sold this item. Im getting a 55" for my back room. No doubt that this mount will do the job. Thank You very much. Sgt James Heinold

The Hercules HRM-100 is a good choice for mounting flat panel TVs. It comes with all of the hardware needed for most normal installations. It seems to be shipped with the tension set overly stiff on the side swivel. Backing the 4 nuts off about 1/3 turn fixed that very quickly. I will get another one for my next flat panel install!

"A Great HDTV for a Great Price!" 2009-11-19
By Javier Miranda (Georgia, USA)
As expected, the price of HDTVs has dropped in connection with the decrease in manufacturing costs. Though this is a great thing for the consumer, the market has become flooded such that it is difficult to find a great product at a reasonable price. Fear not, savvy consumer! This television is an excellent choice at an excellent price. It is very lightweight, has excellent picture quality, and great sound production from its native speakers. I use it with my Xbox 360 and have had no major complaints with it. It is even small enough to fit in my small dorm room with no major issue. I would highly recommend this product for its sheer simplicity, light weight, relatively small size, great price, excellent picture quality, and connectivity (it is able to connect to headphones or computer speakers for improved sound quality or silent listening, which is great when you have a roommate). A great product and a must buy for those interested in a small television that will fit in a small room and be easy to transport.

 "Fantastic Table-Top TV" 2009-11-04
By Christopher J. Hanson (San Antonio, TX)
For several months over this past summer I had been shopping around for a nice, good quality and inexpensive table-top LCD for a bedroom. I perused a few various brands and models. (Sharp, Toshiba, Dynex, Insignia, etc) However, once I caught the price on this Samsung LN22B360 the search stopped dead in its tracks.

I was still a little skeptical even though I have been a fan of Samsung for the last 5 years from when I was in the consumer electronics business. Since that time I have always had an affinity towards Samsung for making and delivering on quality products. Well, I must state that once the TV arrived (in pristine condition through Amazon's free shipping. Thanks-ed.) it did not disappoint. Albeit that it's resolution only goes up to 720p, but you must understand that the picture quality difference between 1080p vs 720p on a 22" monitor is ineligible. The actual resolution that it produces via HDMI is 1366 X 768, so it's better than 720 already to begin with!

There are many complaints about the audio power and I will have to agree with them. HOWEVER, I am hard-pressed to understand why someone would purchase a 22" TV of any kind and expect to have highs that shatter glass, mids that move the air and lows that rattle the wall!?? For a TV this size the speakers work just fine and if I wanted to beef up the audio then the fiber-optic jack in the back would work just fine to connect to a stereo or home theater.

I highly recommend this TV for dorm-rooms, bedrooms and kitchens. The size, picture quality and audio are perfect for smaller-sized and more intimate spaces. It offers a DVI/computer jack for use as a computer monitor; 1 HDMI, 2 Components (R,G,B), 1 Composite, 1 RF and a headphone jack. Also, being under 300 bucks doesn't hurt!

By David (Los Altos Hills, CA USA)
This Samsung LN46B750 replaced a top of the line component video tube set and delivers a better picture, one of the few LCD sets I've seen that does. Black blacks, good viewing angle and great color. 150,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio does make a difference. The 240 Hz refresh allows flicker free viewing even with fast moving sports video. Delivery was into the house and included a functional operating check. Interface to a home theater system also worked well and there are plenty of HDMI inputs to support optimal ease of use and audio/video quality. Be sure to have enough HDMI cables on handMediabridge Ultra Series - 6ft High Speed HDMI Cable - Version 1.3 Category 2 Certified - 1080p - Blu-Ray - PS3; local stores charge a lot for them and you won't be able to wait for 2 day mail order delivery in order to install this TV properly.

 "Outstanding Picture and Value!" 2009-11-21
By Larry O'Neal
I researched this model and other Samsung models for the past year. When the B series was released I knew that this was the one for me. I compared the LN46B750 ($1279) to the UN46B8000 ($1850-$2299 range) and really couldn't see much difference in them except for thickness and price. I asked several sales reps at the big box stores to explain the advantage of the LED Vs the LCD model and all they said was thickness, weight, power consumption and price. Hmmm, oh they did say that I would have bragging rights to say that I had an LED TV if I purchased the 8000. When I questioned about the 150,000:1 Vs 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio they all said that there is really no "industry standard" so the manufacturers can claim any amount they want. Nuf said, after a little more research (and taking the wife to look at them in the stores - IMPORTANT STEP DON'T SKIP IT!) we decided to buy the LN46B750 and I'm glad I did. I purchased our TV at Amazon with $150 off promotion and free shipping via CEVA - GREAT VALUE! The TV arrived early and the delivery service was a nice benefit too. By the way, we like to support our local community so I tried to get Best Buy to match or come close to Amazon's price at two stores. One tried by taking $60 off their sales price and the other flat said NO! Even with the $60 off we would have paid $240 more at Best Buy than at Amazon. I was very hesitant to buy something this large and price online but glad I did!

The picture quality is near perfect after some calibration - factory default settings are not the best. Without calibration you will have milky bleed-over from white to black scenes. The factory settings are just too "hot" for the most part. Some of the "tweaking" took some time though. The manual could have been written better and larger print. I did some research online to determine how to calibrate the unit to obtain what I think is the best picture. [...] . Don't worry about buying those blue glasses from THX to calibrate your set's color and tint. The LN46B750 has a Blue Screen feature built in to do that - THAT'S AWESOME! Remember you really need HD input to get the sharpest picture but that's true with any flatscreen. Take the time to calibrate your set...you'll be glad you did. By the way, Best Buy will try to upsell you to have their Geek Squad calibrate your TV for you for around $300+.

Best Settings for us:

Mode ~ Natural (The 'Standard' setting will give you more options-check it out too)

Backlight ~ 9

Contrast ~ 83

Brightness ~ 47

Sharpness ~ 25

Color ~ 48

Tint ~ G50/R50

The 240hz options are a little confusing. The manual simply says what the on-screen info says and doesn't explain why you would want to adjust it. I use the "Standard" setting and with fast action shows, football games, etc. it's awesome.

My set is in a fairly bright room with large windows and the picture quality is great. The shiny screen does reflect light so if you happen to sit where you can see reflections simply adjust the window blinds a little, dim the lights, etc...no problem.

Another reviewer mentioned "a thin flickering white/silver line that would flicker on top of the screen right under the bezel during many dark scenes. It was not too noticeable, but enough to become a slight nuisance. This was really obvious on dark knight, and also the Planet Earth bluray during the immersive underwater scenes.' This can be remedied by simply using the "Screen Fit" feature and adjust the pictue up slightly. To me this an awesome way to "Tweak" your set to accomodate various inputs of picture quality.

Some have complained about the qualify of the audio. I calibrated the equalizer and the sound is very good...as good or better than my old RCA 32" CRT set. And when using my surround sound the movies sound great anyway. I did notice though that the units in the store were set to the factory default with is "flat-line ~ mid range" on all setting for the equalizer. So don't be discouraged when you check that out at the stores. We tested the Samsung and Sony side by side on audio quality while at Best Buy and got discouraged until we realized that the Samsung's equalizer had not been calibrated but the Sony's had. Perhaps Samsung should consider a demo setting to give more range for the audio for the stores.

The remote is 100% backlit and has a nice glossy finish that fits well in an adult hand. It is very user friendly and the adjustment/tools menu's are also user friendly. The only negative that I've found with it is the buttons are somewhat difficult to press. The remote would not be good for someone with small or weak hands/fingers. Senior adults and small children may struggle with the remote.

TV demensions shown are spot on. Fortunately for us since our cabinet required the exact demensions of the LN46B750 model. Viewing angle is not a problem at all. We sit about 8-10 feet from the screen and range from straight on (90 degrees) to about 70 degrees off center or 140 degrees viewing angle. At 70 degrees you notice a little washout but very tolerable and should be expected on LCD's.

We use HDMI inputs and Optical Audio out. All worked great. We've not tried the Widget's feature yet - working on a wireless LAN to connect to the Internet. Always more to buy! But that part of the fun. Nor have we tried the Game mode - not much need for that in our home.

All in all, I highly recommend this product!

 "I LOVE this TV" 2009-11-16
By --chris (New Jersey)
I intentionally held off writing this review until I had used the TV for a while. After having the TV installed for about 5 weeks now I feel comfortable in reviewing the product.

Simply put it rocks. The picture quality is superb. The interface is relatively easy to use.

Pros:

1. Picture quality is amazing. The fastest most demanding sports, and action scenes are flawless.

2. No "wasted space" There is very little "casing" around the TV. No bulky speakers on the side etc.

3. Digital Tuner will likely give you a lot more channels with no adapter or cable box. You still won't get all of your premium channels but you will get more than just the analog tier. (note that I don't use this as my primary input for TV viewing only for the PIP functionality).

Cons:

1. No single button for PIP. Makes it difficult/impossible to get to PIP from a Harmony remote.

2. The Yahoo Widget gallery is slow. Painfully slow. Slow to the point that every time you access it it takes 2-3 minutes.

3. The Automotion Plus is a matter of taste. You may love it or you may hate it. I ended up turning it off as it makes people in regular TV shows seem "hyper real". I don't know how else to describe it. It almost seems like they are cutouts layered on top of the background. I know that describes it poorly but you really have to see it to understand it.

Can't comment on:

1. Speaker quality- Never used them never will. Everything runs through my sound system.

 "King of the non-LED 46" LCDs" 2009-11-16
By R. Ochoa
I did about two months worth of looking and research to find the right set and the right deal. This TV is in a dedicated media room in my new home. I purchased this TV through Amazon back in August with an amazing coupon deal. I also considered competing models from Sony, LG, Toshiba and Sharp, as well as the Samsung 550 and 650 versions in this size. To my eyes, the Samsung models have deeper blacks and better contrast in well-lit rooms as well as in darker, home theater rooms. To be fair, I also believe the Sony sets have better color saturation and better standard def processing. Additionally, the Sony sets do not have the glossy panel that the Samsung 650 and 750 models use. And let me get this out of the way: The panel on this set (750) is plenty glossy and will reflect light. If you intend to place this set in, say, a family room with lots of natural light as well as lights from a kitchen, breakfast or dining area, I would not recommend this set. The panel does have some sort anti-reflective layer, supposedly, but I think there are limits to how much reflection it can really diffuse. At the very least, if you aren't sure, make sure you hold onto your receipt and the packaging that the set came in should you decide that there's too much reflection on the glass for you. It's not a problem for me, but I can certainly see where this can create problems for others. The glossy panel issue aside, this is a terrific TV. I truly believe that this LCD set gives you the most plasma-like picture of any traditional LCD TV on the market. If you want plasma blacks and contrast in a lighter, more energy-efficient package for your home theater, the Samsung LN46B750 is worth a look and, in my mind, worth the slightly higher price of entry. The newer, back-lit LED models from Samsung, LG, Toshiba and Sharp may provide the same or slightly better picture quality, but I honestly don't believe the added price of those sets is worth the marginal improvements that they may deliver. I have played around some with the 240hz motion processing on this Samsung, but I don't really dig the cloudy, soap-opera effect that this technology tends to create. I generally leave it off. I also have not played around with the online widgets that this set comes loaded with. I suppose they are nice to have, but I didn't buy this TV for the widgets. I watch a lot of football on this TV and the picture has never disappointed, but I really feel like this set shines with movies and similar theatrical content. Get yourself a Blu-Ray player and a decent surround sound system with this TV and you may never leave your house. Seriously. Last thing I'll say is that this TV provides you with a lot of picture control that you don't get elsewhere - particularly the separate blur reduction and judder settings for motion processing. If you love to tweak picture settings for different kinds of lighting situations and/or content, then this set is for you.

"WOW - Better than my high expectations." 2009-11-20
By Joe Brewer (Parsippany, NJ)
I am a bit of a gadget guy and a techy. As such, I was not expecting to be surprised with this purchase. I knew the features, I knew the details, I saw this in stores. I was surprised at 2 things.

The picture looks much better in my house then it did in the store! It has better depth and the color/tones are fantastic. Both are much better then I experienced in the stores. The color/tones was the main reason I was leaning towards Sony but the bightness of this set was needed for my enviroment. So I was surprised that I got the brightness I needed and the fantastic color that I wanted.

Additionally, I was please to find that Samsung opened up all of the A/V settings so you can seriously adjust the picture to suit the envirmoment and the types of viewing you will do. {I have a lot to learn on this aspect. My previous Sony you had to go into a special mode for those settings. I never bothered}.

A shout out to the white gloves service. They were simple, effective, and quick. They brought it in, unpackaged it, connected it, tested (with me observing) and were gone after cleaning up after themselves.

I installed this on the wall myself using the Samsung Ultra-slim mounting kit. This kit was as easy as hanging a 50lb picture. The kit also includes a special movable "leg" that allows you to tilt the TV out from the wall to make connections. It worked great.

Bring on the remainder of Football season!

"Slim Mount is not so great if you plug your TV in behind the TV" 2009-11-18
By M. Butler
Everything about the TV so far is great! I am not convinced I needed the 240Hz, though. My only complaint is that when using the slim mount that was designed for this TV, there is not enough clearance behind the TV to plug it in without installing a recessed recepticle. Very poor planning on Samsung's part! A real 'bonehead' move for a mount that retails at $250!!!

 "Excellent picture, sound" 2009-11-16

The picture and sound on this sleek Samsung is excellent. We actually feel like we are on the set watching the actual filming of the movies. Best pic and price from Amazon. White glove delivery and set up was great.

"Great TV, not so great extras" 2009-11-14
By J. Decker (MD, USA)
I spent a good amount of time researching TVs before deciding on the Samsung Series 8. This TV has a great picture partly because of the LED lighting.

There are some times where the 240Hz smoothing can look strange but you can always turn it off or try changing to another setting.

If your interested in the widget layer like I was, you may want to hold off. I took away 1 star because the widgets are a pretty big selling point and even after setup they are so slow as to not be usable. I think we are 2-3 years too early for our TVs to be able to multi-task.

"Samsung 55 Inch LED HDTV" 2009-11-13
By Leroy Nunn (Queen Creek, Arizona United States)
This TV meets all my expectations. I combined it with a Yamaha NS-SP1800BL 5.1 Suround speakers and the Yamaha RX-V765BL 665 Watt 7-Channel Home Theater Receiver (all purchased at Amazon). The TV is shocking in it's brightness, contrast and clarity of picture. Add that to the power savings over an LCD TV and it's a win, win. Combine the above with a Blu Ray player and everything comes alive.
